I would really say that this past season was an unfortunate one to the entire team even though we have achieved the top eight finish.

At some point we were in the title race after the first 15 games and then we started struggling a bit due some injuries and other issues that made players unavailable for selection.  We did our best nonetheless. In my opinion I felt we were playing good football, but results just would not go our way.

My performances were good, but not my best personally. I would love to become a regular member in the starting 11 but it all takes hard work as a player to achieve that. That just means I have to work harder in the future. According to my personal statistics each season I've been at United, it was an improvement from the last one. So I feel like I am progressing. It might be a slow progression, but I will ultimately become a complete player.

Like I said in the beginning, we had a very good start to the season and ended off fairly rough. I just felt that some results did not go our way. Results that definitely should have, but did not. But that is part-and-parcel of football.

The top five was a good finish, but I do believe that we deserved a better position with the way we have been playing. We could have easily finished in the top three.

However, injuries made life difficult for us but they are unfortunately part of the game and we need to learn to work around that. Injuries can happen to anybody at any time.

Also, the COVID 19 pandemic was another situation and still is a big problem to entire world including the sporting fraternity. We can be safe, stay indoors and practice good sanitization, but it could take one delivery and you could have test positive. These things are unfortunately out of our control but we must adhere to the rules. We will need a backup plan for these type of cases. The pandemic has really taken its toll on everyone.

Looking at some of the team members who had a good season, Bradley Grobler was doing well, injuries sidelined him but he managed to recover and won the Golden Boot Award. I am very happy for him. He definitely deserves it.

Another player is Teboho Mokoena, he scored one of the best goals (against Stellenbosch FC) I've ever seen in my life.

During the offseason I will definitely be training extra hard and preparing for the new season. I would like to become more consistent going forward and fight for the team.

For the season ahead, I would love to get more game time and score a few goals, I haven't scored goals in a while.

As players we need some motivation, to become a top athlete you need to do more than the average person. One needs to be more disciplined and go the extra mile to get what they want. That is what I'm willing to do next season.

I really think we have the team to challenge for the title and Cup competitions, and with the right guidance, I believe we can definitely achieve our dream.

My message to all South Africans is that they must please practice good sanitization methods and try as much as possible can to stay indoors. Let's all beat the COVID19 third wave!
