Bafana Bafana have been crowned champions of the 2021 Council of Southern Africa Football Association (COSAFA) Cup for the first time in five years.

Bafana Bafana have been crowned champions of the 2021 Council of Southern Africa Football Association (COSAFA) Cup for the first time in five years.

This after SA beat the new participants Senegal 5-4 on penalties after a goalless draw on regulation time.

The match went into extra time and hosts Bafana Bafana had to win the match after Nyiko Mobbie converted from the sudden death spot-kick.

Bafana displayed some great performances with a young squad full of energy and manages to reach the final without a loss in both the group stages and the last four.

In the shootout, Lebo Maboe, Siyethemba Sithebe, Sifiso Ngobeni, goalkeeper Veli Mothwa and Nyiko Mobbie (scored sudden death winner) all converted their spot-kicks.

Bafana and AmaZulu FC star Siyethemba Sithebe won Man of the Match award in the final.

Meanwhile SA made a clean-sweep of individual presentations as keeper Mothwa won Goalkeeper of the tournament, Victor Letsoalo was handed Golden Boot award after netting four goals and Sithebe picked up player of the tournament award.
