Football fans in Tshwane are anticipating a heated encounter when rivals SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns lock horns in a crucial Tshwane derby match.

The game is scheduled for Wednesday night at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.

Kick-off is at 19:30.

This is going to be a mouth-watering clash as the two cross-town foes battle for top spot in the DStv Premiership.

Sundowns and SuperSport are currently on position two and three on the log table having bagged 24 and 23 points respectively.

A victory for either side will see them unseating coastal side Cape Town City who are leading the pack with 25 points.

Interestingly, there’s never a dull moment whenever Matsatsantsa and Mamelodi Sundowns meet.

Last season, United beat them 2-1 in the league’s first round meeting and Sundowns won 1-0 in the second-round clash.

Hard facts concerning the two sides is that Sundowns are going into this match with six ex-SuperSport players who pose a danger to their former team. They have ex-United captain Ronwen Williams, Teboho Mokoena, Sipho Mbule, Grant Kekana, Aubrey Modiba and Thapelo Maseko who joined them at the beginning of this season.

On the other hand, Matsatsantsa are having Grant Margeman, Etiosa Ighodaro and goalkeeper Ricardo Goss in their books.

Meanwhile tickets for this match are on sale at TicketProSA at R60 for adults and R20 for children under the age of 12 year.
