SuperSport United Development Academy played their GDL games on Sunday, at Atteridgeville, Lucas Moripe Stadium.

The SuperSport United Development Academy played their GDL games on Sunday, 25th of August at Atteridgeville, Lucas Moripe Stadium. SuperSport United games were against Mamelodi Sundowns, and the first game started at 9am. All games were live streamed on the SuperSport Schools Channel, providing fans with the opportunity to watch and support the young talents.

The game between SuperSport U13 and Mamelodi Sundowns was a close match, with 2 goals being scored against SuperSport United in the first half. However, Matsatsantsa were able to score one goal. Mpho Pitsa scored the only goal for SuperSport United, assisted by Rorisang Taukobong. In the second half, the score remained 2-1 until the final whistle. This was a tough loss for The Spartans, but they put up a good fight and showed great teamwork.

The Supersport United U15 team gave a valiant effort in their second game of the day against Sundowns. The game was filled with tension and excitement, with the first goal being scored within the first minute of the first half by Sundowns. Despite their best efforts, Supersport United ultimately lost the game with a final score of 0-1.

SuperSport United’s U17 played the third game of the day against Mamelodi Sundowns, which kicked off at 12:00pm. In the first half, SuperSport United faced an early setback when a penalty was scored against them. Before the end of the first half, another goal was scored against Matsatsantsa, putting them at a disadvantage. In the second half, SuperSport United struggled to make a comeback and Mamelodi Sundowns scored a third goal. The game ended with a final score of 3-0 in favour of Mamelodi Sundowns.

The last game between SuperSport United U19 and Mamelodi Sundowns that kicked off at 14:00, was truly a sight to behold. SuperSport United displayed an impressive start, scoring 2 goals in just 15 minutes. Tumelo Machethe opened the scoring with a penalty, with an assist from Manelisi Mazibuko. Sphesihle Jeza then added a second goal in the first half, with an assist from Lazola Maku. The third goal came from Shamir, assisted by Sphesihle once again. To top it off, Kabelo Selowa scored the fourth goal, with another assist from Jeza. The final score was an impressive 4-0.
