This past weekend, SuperSport United competed in the Gauteng Development League (GDL) on Saturday at Curro Sagewood against Joburg City FC.
SuperSport United u13 was unable to secure a win against Joburg city in the first game of the day. Unfortunately, the final score was 2-0 in favour of Joburg city.
The Young Spartans (U17) showed played the second match against Joburg City. Despite a strong effort from the opposing team, Matsatsantsa came out on top with a 2-0 victory. Buhle Matshoba opened the scoring with an impressive assist from Tswelelo Maake. The second goal was scored by Tumisho Manamela, who capitalised on a pass from Lizwi Sakati.
The SSU U19 closed it off, and what an incredible performance they gave! They scored a total of 5 goals with 0 goals against Joburg City. Tshepo Mahlatsi was the first to score, followed by Koketso Matdiza with the second goal. Tyresa David's was able to score the third goal with an assist from Tshiamo Selemela in the first half of the game. In the second half, Leeyogan Saville scored the 4th goal with an assist from Orifha Maubelo, the 5th and final goal was scored by Orifha with an assist from Tyrese David. It was a fantastic display of teamwork and skill from our young lads.
The SSU U15s played an exciting match the next day on Sunday against Joburg City FC at Vosloorus Stadium. Fans were able to catch all the action live on SuperSport Schools channel 216, and were able to live stream on SuperSport Schools App, with the Young Spartans ultimately securing a 3-1 victory. Uthando Gould scored the first goal with an assist from David Stober, followed by Liam Frost and Jesse Gewer scoring, with assists from Brythe Moffit.
