The tiny prospect has featured in the first team once last season and managed to put on some brilliant performances.
Appollis is currently with the first team in the Biologically Safe Environment (BSE) complete the 2019-2020 campaign.
SuperSport United website conducted Q and A with Appollis regarding both the MDC and the first team experience.
How does it feel to be part of the first team?
It feel amazing to be part of this wonderful team SuperSport United.
You played an important role in the MDC, how did you manage to be one of the regular members in the team?
I always kept my feet on the ground and did what the coaches expected from me all the time.
As opposed to other teammates, you have already tasted the Absa Premiership and you nearly scored in your first game at home? What is your take on this one?
That was really a good feeling, but that is all in the past I’m more excited and focused about what’s happening next and work even harder than I did to get an opportunity in the first team.
Are you getting any motivation from senior players in the team?
Absolutely, I’m getting a lot of motivation from the senior players and I have also learnt a lot from my academy teammates as well. I have also learnt that no one is bigger than the game!
What is the difference between MDC and the Absa Premiership?
At the MDC one gets a lot of free time and the PSL level is way bigger and has stronger players who are very hardworking. At the Premiership level, before you receive the ball you must already know what you are going to do with it and the decision you are going to take.
