SuperSport United left-footed player Lyle Lakay netted two goals when his team beat TS Galaxy 3-2 in a crucial DStv Premiership encounter on the road.
The match was held at the Mbombela Stadium on Wednesday night.
The victory saw United unseating Golden Arrows from position two on the Premiership log table and also narrowing the gap between them and leaders Mamelodi Sundowns (24 points).
The two cross-town rivals are now separated by two points (SuperSport have 22 points) with Sundowns having two games in hand.
Lyle Lakay opened the scoring account after a brilliantly taken set-piece under 10 minutes in the first half.
However, Matsatsantsa’s celebration was short-lived as the home side levelled matters within a short space of two minutes from the spot-kick.
Just before the half-hour mark, it was Lakay again who completed his brace with his golden left foot after Grant Margeman laid off the ball for him to score. The score was 2-all.
The speedy winger who graduated from the United Reserve side, rejoined them this season after playing for PSL clubs such as rivals Sundowns, Cape Town City and the now defunct Bloemfontein Celtic.
Meanwhile centre-forward Bradley Grobler netted a winner in the 75th minute after he was set up by Etiosa Ighodaro and finished superbly on the near post.
