SuperSport United DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) forward Thabang Mahlangu netted a hit-trick when his team beat visitors Royal AM 3-2 on the weekend.

The match was held at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville on Saturday afternoon.

The young centre-forward scored United’s first goal after converting from the penalty spot inside 10 minutes.

Mahlangu completed his brace in the 32^nd minute following a brilliant assist from left-back Neo Rapoo.

The halftime score was 2-2.

The score remained even for almost the entire second half till Mahlangu completed a hat-trick that saw Matsatsantsa winning the match 3-2.

Mahlangu, who was promoted to the senior team recently, debuted against rivals Mamelodi Sundowns when the two sides played out to a 1-1 draw in Tshwane last month.

The Matsatsantsa prospect came off the bench for left-winger Shandre Campbell in the 71^st minute and did not disappoint.
