SuperSport United and Golden Arrows delivered an eight-goal in the DStv Diski Challenge on Saturday, with the latter emerging 5-3 victors after a sensational second-half turnaround at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium.
SuperSport United hit the ground running, taking the lead just 46 seconds into the match with Siviwe Magidigidi finding the back of the net. Siviwe Magididi continued his fine form, netting his second goal in the 18th minute to put his side firmly in control. Golden Arrows managed to pull one back before halftime, and the teams went into the break with SuperSport leading 2-1.
The second half told a completely different story. Golden Arrows came out with renewed energy and ruthlessly took control, scoring four unanswered goals to flip the game on its head. SuperSport’s Mandlenkosi Nkosi managed to add a third for his side deep into stoppage time, but it proved to be only a consolation.
The match ended 5-3 in favour of Golden Arrows, who showed great resilience and attacking flair to secure all three points.
