Matsatsantsa invade in East London

SuperSport United Football Club take on Chippa United in a crucial DStv Premiership encounter this coming weekend.

The match is scheduled for Sisa Dukashe Stadium in East London, Eastern Cape province.

Kickoff is at 15:30.

Matsatsantsa are going into this match highly motivated following their two consecutive victories against Swallows FC and Maritzburg United respectively.

Their hard work attitude saw them occupying position two (with 11 points) on the DStv Premiership table below perennial rivals Mamelodi Sundowns who are in the driving seat with 13 points.

“We have done very well so far, we have been dominating games in both attack and defence,   so the whole team deserves credit for the good results. We have had a good start to our DStv Premiership campaign, we are just working hard to maintain it throughout the season,” said the Matsatsantsa skipper Ronwen Williams.

However, this is not going to be an easy outing for Matsatsantsa as Chippa are a hard nut to crack at home and are guided by an astute coach Gavin Hunt who also worked very closely with Captain Ronwen Williams at United in the past.

“Chippa are a very tricky side, and they have a wonderful experienced coach in Gavin Hunt, but we have analyzed them and preparations have been going well.

It’s going to be war out there and our soldiers need to step up and be prepared,” Williams said.

United will rely heavily on players such as Teboho Mokoena, Williams, Iqraam Rayners, TT Ditlhokwe and the big centre-back Thami Gabuza.

Good news for coach Kaitano Tembo’s boys is the return of young centre-back Luke Fleurs who served his two-match suspension.
