Matsatsantsa out of Telkom Knockout

SuperSport United lost 1-0 to Golden Arrows in the quarterfinal of the 2019 Telkom Knockout on Saturday night.

The match was held at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.

The visitors netted the only goal of the match in the 11th minute after United conceded a freekick just outside the box.

Matsatsantsa kept on fighting for an equalizer but Arrows made it hard for the Tshwane based outfit till halftime.

The halftime score remained 1-0.

Matsatsantsa mentor Kaitano Tembo tried as much as possible to level matters but again Arrows made it difficult for the home team.

Tembo kept on putting some fresh legs on the pitch with the home side creating some more scoring opportunities but failed to convert them into goals.

In the 90+ minutes, Arrows conceded a penalty and Aubrey Modiba stood up to take the spot-kick but was unlucky as the shot hit the bottom of the right upright.

The final score was 1-0 to Arrows who advanced to the Last Four.
