SuperSport United will take on another Polokwane based outfit Sekhukhune United in a crucial DStv Premiership match this coming weekend.
The game is scheduled for Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Kick-off is at 5:30pm.
In their midweek league game, Matsatsantsa shared the spoils (1-1) with Polokwane in the same province.
The draw saw second placed SuperSport united narrowing the gap between them and leaders Mamelodi Sundowns FC with just one point.
“It’s part and parcel of football. However, I still think we deserved to win the match. We have put everything in the back of our minds and focusing on the next match.
The weather is good, and we are hoping to have a good game come Sunday,” said the young United defender Ime Okon from his hotel room in Polokwane.
The upcoming match is not going to be an easy one as Matsatsantsa are taking on wounded Sekhukhune United who dropped maximum points against Orlando Pirates on Tuesday night.
“Sekhukhune are a dangerous side to play, especially after losing their last match on the road. They are a good side and fight as a compact unit. We must be cautious, follow the game-plan and purely focus on winning the game,” he said.
SuperSport have been doing good in their last few matches as they managed to reduce the gap between them and Sundowns who are leading the pack.
They are currently on position two having played 11 matches with seven wins, two draws and the same number of losses and they have 23 points in the bag.
“I’m happy with our current form and I’m positive we are not going to make it easy for them. We are both eyeing maximum points and the team that shows more hunger will emerge victorious. I have no doubt we will put a great fight and make our fans happy at the end of the day,” concluded Okon who won man of the match award in their last game.
