SuperSport United welcome Limpopo based outfit Black Leopards in their 2020-2021 DStv Premier Soccer League (PSL) opener this weekend.
The match is scheduled for Lucas Moripe Stadium in Tshwane on Saturday night.
Kickoff is at 8:15 pm.
“We are excited to kick off our first league match at home. We are positive and it is vital to collect maximum points as we are prepared for this one.
The team looks good and fresh after a day off for recovery so come Saturday we ready to go to war,” said the United veteran defender Clayton Daniels.
United are going into this match highly motivated following their MTN8 Last 8 win against another Limpopo based side and rookies TTM FC last weekend.
“Tough game in Venda playing at 3pm with a 40 degrees heat against a team did not know much so we had to be cautious. Luckily we did the business in the first half and managed to hold on to put ourselves in the semis,” he said.
Matsatsantsa paraded three new players they bought to beef up their squad and may also introduce some more come Saturday night.
“The new players have settled in very well. We are going to have a long season so everyone must be available. We have a lot of young players who must take this opportunity to show the technical team what they are capable of because they are the future of the club,” said the Cape Town-born-defender.
United will also welcome some of the players who were not available for selection in their previous Cup match in Venda.
This is not going to be an easy encounter as Leopards are a tough experienced side who fight all the way.
“Leopards is a side that can beat anyone at any given day. However, we played them in the Bio-Bubble not so long ago so we know what to expect from them. We really need to bring our A game come Saturday night,” emphasized Daniels.
The Matsatsantsa defender appealed to all South Africans to adhere to the government’s strict rules regarding the COVID19 pandemic.
“To all citizens who do not adhere to the COVID19 rules and regulations, I would like to appeal to them to please continue doing the right things because COVID19 is still around us and people still get infected. Let’s all follow the strict rules,” he concluded.
