Mbule scoops his first monthly award

SuperSport United sensation Sipho Mbule wins his first ever Player of the Month Award for the month of November.

The award ceremony was held at the Premier Soccer League (PSL) head-quarters in Parktown on Tuesday afternoon.

The gifted national under23 star had a perfect season so far and that helped him to command regular position in coach Kaitano Tembo’s team.

Also, the Free-State-born youngster formed part of the national under23 squad that qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Mbule emerged victorious ahead of other players such as Kaizer Chiefs’ Samir Nurkovic, Knox Mutizwa of Golden Arrows and Chippa United’s William Twala after netting two brilliant strikes against Bidvest Wits FC and Maritzburg United FC respectively.

The biggest winner was the Chiefs’ head coach Ernst Middendorp who won Coach of the Month Award for three consecutive times.

Mbule’s mentor Tembo and Bloemfontein Celtic’s Lehlohonolo Seema, also received favourable mentions for their team efforts during the month.

Middendorp and Mbule will each receive R5000 for winning the monthly awards from ABSA, proud sponsors of the Absa Premiership.

Judging Panel: Farouk Khan (convenor), Simphiwe Dludlu, James Mayinga, Velile Mnyandu, Kwena “Gillo” Moabelo, Bheki Letsoalo and Phumudzo Manenzhe
