SuperSport United Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Lucky Mohomi on a one-year-deal with an option to extend.
Born in Mamelodi, he started his PSL career in the 2015/16 season for Free State Stars making over 30 appearances for the Bethlehem based side and impressed now currently Al Ahly FC coach Pitso Mosimane securing a big money move to his hometown team Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mohomi played a crucial role in Mamelodi Sundowns winning the CAF Champions League and Absa Premiership three times in a row in the 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2019/20 season respectively. He was also part of the squad that won the Telkom-Knock-Out and Nedbank Cup trophy in the 2019/20 season.
The 29-year-old joins Matsatsantsa having been a great admirer of head coach Kaitano Tembo and will look to regain his form with this big move.
SuperSport United head coach Kaitano Tembo “We needed more experience in the midfield and I think Mohomi will provide that. He is technically gifted and he is a player that can score goals and he will bring great strength into our team. Mohomi can help carry the load from players like Teboho Mokoena, Sipho Mbule and Jamie Webber and will play a huge role in developing our youngsters going forward. He is a player I have always admired and it will be good to work with him.
