Mokoena wins award as Bafana beat Zimbabwe

SuperSport United midfielder Teboho Mokoena displayed some superb performances when Bafana Bafana beat neighbouring state Zimbabwe in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualifier match.

The match was held at the 2010 FIFA World Cup Final venue FNB Stadium in Crown Mines, Johannesburg.

Mokoena was on good form on the night and headed home a winner after receiving a pin-point delivery from Keagan Dolly in the 25th minute of the first half.

The Bethlehem-born-sensation received a deserved man of the match award as Bafana emerged victorious at the end of the match.

The victory saw Bafana securing three points at the top of Group G table followed by Ghana who played to a 1-all draw with Ethiopia the same day.

In other matches that featured other Matsatsantsa players, Moses Waiswa’s Uganda also shared the spoils (1-1) with Kenya at home.

Meanwhile Bafana will play their next match on the road when they take on the West African nation Ghana this coming Sunday.

The match will be held at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium. Kick off is at 9pm (local time).
