Q and A with Atteridgeville supporter - Bonafela Malema

SuperSport United caught up with one of Matsatsantsa supporters’ member Bonafela Malema regarding the COVID19 and how much he and fellow supporters miss football.

How much do you miss football?

I miss football a lot to a point where I watch our previous matches on television, our historical moments, winning the league three times in a row and all the trophies we have won before.

How do you and other Matsatsantsa supporters keep in touch?

We as Matsatsantsa fans talk a lot, especially whenever we see the old trophies we have won, good and bad memories.  We also talk a lot about losing the late Thomas Madigage (May his soul rest in peace).  We always say had he not passed, he would have formed a formidable partnership with our current head coach Kaitano Tembo as both played together in the past.

What is the most important thing you guys talk about?

We talk about growing the team nationwide, we want to try new things and we also need help from the team, we want to see the team doing much better during our away games in terms of support... We need to grow that, with help from the team.

What are you currently doing?

Currently I'm not working, I was driving Uber before the Coronavirus pandemic started, so the person I was working for took the car back when the President announce the national lockdown, so I'm still jobless.

How do you want your family to keep safe in this COVID19?

I and my family are trying our level best to be indoors as much as we possibly can. We clean everything, make sure we wash our hands and follow the instructions we got from the government, to stay indoors and always wear mask whenever we go out to buy foods

What is your message to fellow South Africans and football supporters?

My message to my fellow south African is that let's help each other, this is not time to brag with what you have but to help one another, let’s stand tall and united. We all struggle to get everything what we need but we'll surely get there, one hand washes another... And to the fans out there, let's stay united, we all miss football, so staying at home will help fight the spread of COVID19.
