SuperSport United Football Club visited coach Kaitano Tembo to get a clear picture regarding the pre-season programme at their training base at the Megawatt Park in Sunninghill.
“Kaizer,” as he was affectionately called by his teammates during his playing days, emphasized that the team is looking good and hard at work preparing for the new season.
You have been hard at work for a few weeks so far in the pre-season training, how is it going?
We are into week 4 in our pre-season and it has been really good. The players have been working really hard though we don't have the full complement of our squad because we have players competing at the Olympics and as well as the just ended COSAFA Cup.
Since you have been blending DDC Reserve boys with the first team, do you see any potential in some of them?
We have also been having a good look at some of our DDC Reserve team players and the signs have been encouraging.
You have been playing some friendly matches as well, what is the importance of those?
We have also been playing friendly matches to build on our match fitness and give game time as well as work on our tactical approach for the coming season
How are they of help to the team as the start of the new season is getting closer?
We will have the full squad by next week and we will use the next two weeks to fine tune the team before the beginning of the season.
