Q and A with Kegan Johannes ahead of the DStv Premiership match between United and Stellenbosch

SuperSport United take on Stellenbosch FC in a crucial midweek DStv Premiership encounter on Tuesday afternoon.

The match is scheduled for Danie Craven Stadium in Cape Town.

Kickoff is at 5pm.

Matsatsantsa website conducted Q and A with defender Kegan Johannes few hours before kickoff.

How is the level of confidence at the camp?

Like every other PSL game, the mood in the camp is good, the guys are confident going into this important match.

The team is highly motivated after the last home win I feel?

Absolutely! You always go into the next match with positive mindset, particularly after winning your last match. The guys are motivated because we know what’s at stake.

What is your take on a week-long break regarding the team’s momentum?

I feel sometimes a break is good in terms of reflecting to the team’s previous performance because sometimes we take things for granted and become complacent. So I feel a break sometimes is a blessing in disguise.

Cape Town match venues are always difficult to visitors to cope with, what is your advice to the team?

My advice to the team is to stick to the game-plan and play the United way and not allow them to dictate terms, we have to take the game to them.

Stellenbosch are a good side, it’s not going to be an easy one for us?

Yes, of course they’re a good side and just like every other match in the PSL it’s not going to be an easy one but I feel if we stick to the game-plan we should be successful in terms of getting a positive result.

Like us, they are eyeing maximum points which may move them into the top five on the table if they beat us?

Most definitely, just like us they are going to want to play for three points but I feel like there’s more pressure on them by virtue of being the home team.  So we should take advantage of the situation.
