Q and A with Matsatsantsa Diepsloot coordinator

SuperSport United Football Club website organized Q and A with Matsatsantsa supporters’ Diepsloot Branch coordinator Danny Kekae regarding the COVID19 pandemic and how they continue with life without live football.

How are you coping with lockdown?

It's not easy to stay at home doing nothing I just eat and sleep some other time I go for gym.

What else are you doing at home besides being locked?

I always play with my boys helping them with school work later I bath them just to help my wife also I'm getting used to house-hold chores.

How is the community of Diepsloot conducting itself or behaving during lockdown?

Eish my brother… Diepsloot is just like any normal business day people are just busy going up and down on every corner of the street so I just feel like they don't take it serious at all.

How much do you miss live football?

That one I can say I can't wait for the PSL to resume since we are locked and they busy trying to entertain us with 80s and 90s football but it can't compare with the current football we have now.

How do you communicate with other football fanatics?

We have group chats on both WhatsApp and Facebook just to share the ideas and the players we wish if our CEO Stan Matthews can bring them to the club.

What do you talk about mostly?

Football is the only thing I admire most since we on lockdown I hope that's the only thing I'm missing so badly for now.

What is your message to Learners who are at home locked and preparing to go back to school?

To all the learners who are at home now let's just calm down and wait for the right time since the government played a key role to bring education on our television sets and social media to ease this phase.  Since the school is opening soon let's just make sure our kids are safe and comply with social distancing.

What advice would you give to those who find it hard to stay at home?

Those who find it difficult to stay at home I can tell you this Covid19 is there I know it's not everyone who believe that but if you lose one of your close family members with this pandemic you will stay at home.

COVID19 held the whole world to a standstill including Schools, Colleges and Universities? What is your message to them?

This pandemic is not only in South Africa, so as it reaches the whole world let’s take it seriously and comply to save our loved ones.  The right time will come and we will still continue to leave our normal life.

What is your message to fellow South Africans and the entire global football community regarding the COVID19 pandemic?

Covid19 is a dangerous disease, which if it's possible let's give it time or the remaining games can be played within closed doors. Some other countries where football is back there are certain things they undergo before they make their final decisions. If PSL is not ready yet, we can wait, I don’t see any problem especially with the number of infected people increasing on a daily basis.
