Q and A with Polokwane based coordinator Morris More

How much do you miss football?

As supporters, we really miss live football. Life is not the same without football, we miss going to the stadium to chant and sing together to uplift and encourage players on the field.

How do you and other Matsatsantsa supporters in PLK (Polokwane) keep the conversation going?

We normally text or video all each other just to check up on each other.

What is the most important thing you guys talk about?

The most important thing to us as supporters is to support the team to do well, retaining the premiership status and always finishing the season in the top eight bracket.

What are you currently involved in?

I’m a qualified football coach, so because of the fact that I’m a law abiding citizen, I have to adhere to the rules of lockdown of which social distancing is one of them.  It is really frustrating not to be able to do what I do best but I guess the time will come where we are allowed to go back to the field.

How do you and your family adhere to lockdown rules?

We limit the movement of leaving our house, we only go out if it’s a must. We regularly wash our hands and sanitize. We make sure that when we leave the house we have our three-ply masks on as well as our surgical gloves and we also keep a social distance where needs be.

What is your message to fellow South Africans and supporters?

My message to everyone is that we should be patient, we should not lose hope and we should always practice hygiene at home and at the workplace.

This is just a phase that will pass, let us remain prayerful and faithful that our country and economy will bounce back.

Last but not least, we can’t wait to go watch our boys back in action on the field of play and finishing the season in a respectable position.
