Q and A with SSU ResPublica Students coordinator Carel

SuperSport United Football Club website had an opportunity to have Q and A with Respublica Students Matsatsantsa supporters’ coordinator Carel Mambe regarding the COVID19 and how much they miss live football.

How is Tshwane and how do you guys cope with lockdown?

Tshwane is a good place especially where I am currently situated, it’s safe and distanced from town and a lot of facilities.

Are the people on that end adhere to the lockdown rules?

Yes, even if it’s almost the impossible task to protect yourself on a 100%.

What is your take on the COVID19 and what advice will you give to fellow South Africans?

COVID19 it’s real and we all under estimated it until we started experiencing the various damage in different levels on a maximum scale, South Africans should follow the protocols given to them by the Government and Health departments, and they should try by all means to comply with those guidelines provided to them to save the future.

What do you do during this lockdown? Are you an essential worker? What are you busy with since we have moved from level4 to level3?

Well I am not an essential worker but I am a student, I have been doing indoors training with my friends and also been teaching SuperSport United new signing Guily Manziba English lessons , ever since we moved to level3 I have been consistency with my books and visiting my family in centurion.

How much do you miss live football?

Well if I say I don’t miss it I would lied, live football was more like something that keeps me entertained and move me away from any other not good doing behavior, it taught me discipline in different levels, one of the level is respecting the time of the game.

How do you and other Matsatsantsa supporters keep in touch or keep your conversation going?

Well I have recreated different social platforms for our supporters:

INSTAGRAM page named SuperSport United_FC_Students which currently have about 535 followers.

WhatsApp Groups for students to be updated or be more informed about the club events and decision steps, I created about five different WhatsApp groups for different student branches namely: RESPUBLICA, Muzinda, Manhattan, Nicole and Mbombela students.
