Qalinge on reuniting with Tembo and MTN8 Cup final

SuperSport United winger Thabo “Section 10” Qalinge emphasized that he is excited to be back home with Matsatsantsa.

The speedy one was featured on the national public broadcaster television show, Sport at 10 with Thomas Mlambo last night.

“I’m happy to be back home. I’m not new at United, I left the club and joined Mpumalanga Black Aces FC (which was later sold and renamed Cape Town City FC) before joining Orlando Pirates,” said the Soweto born player.

Qalinge was in the United books a few years ago under the guidance of coach Gavin Hunt and was a regular member of the Reserve side.

“I played a lot of matches under our current head coach Kaitano Tembo when he was still actively involved in our development academy.  Also, I trained with the first team under coach Gavin Hunt and it was a good feeling,” Qalinge said.

The ex-Pirates player is optimistic that Matsatsantsa will achieve their goals if they continue to fight the same way they kicked off the season.

“I’m happy with the fighting spirit. We need to be consistent and fight to win matches. However, we will drop points along the way, but we are a balanced team and we will compete with whoever comes our way.

The team did a great job so far, they will be playing in the Cup final (MTN8 Cup) against Highlands Park next weekend.  This is going to be an exciting match, no one wants to lose this big match. I played in the same Cup final against Kaizer Chiefs when I was at Pirates unfortunately, we lost the match and it was not a good feeling I can tell you that,” concluded Qalinge who came off the bench for Evans Rusike in the first leg semi-final of the MTN8 Cup against Mamelodi Sundowns.
