SuperSport United winger Iqraam Rayners won man of the match award as Matsatsantsa beat neighbours Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 in a league match on the weekend.

The match was held at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville on Friday night.

Matsatsantsa deservedly won the match as Capetonian Rayners assisted twice in the first half’s brilliant strikes by teenage sensation Thapelo Maseko and Bradley Grobler respectively.

Maseko netted inside 10 minutes of the first half whereas Grobler’s extended lead came on the stroke of half time from Rayners’ superb cross on the left.

Rayners, who was on top form on the night, tormented the Sundowns defence the entire game and was awarded man of the match award.

Meanwhile Matsatsantsa’s next match will be on the road against Maritzburg United on Friday night at the KwaZulu-Natal province.

The match will be played at the Harry Gwala Stadium at 7:30pm.
