SuperSport United FC were crowned the 2016-2017 Nedbank Cup champions for the straight season after thrashing Orlando Pirates 4-1 in the final.

The big match was held at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

United opened the scoring account through Bradley Grobler in the 33rd minute.  Three minutes later Jeremy Brockie increased the lead by heading home Grobler’s header to make the score 2-0.

In the 63rd minute Grobler completed his brace from Thuso Phala’s deflected cross to make the score 3-0.

In the 78th minute Kingston Nkhatha who came off the bench for brace man Grobler managed to put his name on the scoresheet with a composed finish from the 12-yards.

In stoppage time, Pirates were awarded a penalty that was converted by Oupa Manyisa, a consolation goal that saw Matsatsantsa finishing the match by 4-1.
