SSU aim for positive result in the Tshwane derby

SuperSport United Football Club take on perennial rivals Mamelodi Sundowns in their midweek Tshwane derby on Wednesday afternoon.

The match will take place at Loftus Versfeld Stadium and kick off is at 5pm.

This is going to be a big and tough clash as both sides are aiming for maximum points at the end of the match.

According to Matsatsantsa mentor Kaitano Tembo, his charges are facing a very good side that is looking forward to win the DStv Premiership and obviously make history.

“We are looking forward to the match which is a derby, and playing against a very good team that has done well so far,” said the United head coach Kaitano Tembo.

Also, Tembo further emphasized that his players do not need no motivation as they are playing in a derby and most of his players are available for selection after recovering from an assortment of injuries.

“The players are looking good and confident and it's a game that needs no motivation to the team and it comes at the right time after our moral boosting result against TTM FC.

The break has also given us an opportunity to get all our injured players ready and available for selection,” Tembo said.

Matsatsantsa are going into this clash after winning their last match against reigning Nedbank Cup champions TTM FC.

At the moment, United are sitting on position six having played 27 matches with 10 wins, 11 draws six losses and have bagged 41 points.

“We want to finish the season on a high and this game is very important to us and we are going to give our all in order for us to get a positive result,” concluded the Matsatsantsa mentor.

United will rely heavily on players such as Bradley Grobler, Thami Gabuza, Sipho Mbule, Teboho Mokoena and Jamie Webber.

In their last meeting, United and Sundowns played to a goalless draw at the Atteridgeville’s Lucas Moripe Stadium four months ago.
