SuperSport United technical team has been impressed by new signing Patrick “Tito” Maswanganyi’s performances in his first ever appearance for Matsatsantsa.

The new recruit started for United in their 3-1 victory against Royal AM at the Lucas Moripe Stadium last week.

Also, the young sensation from Thembisa in Ekurhuleni, assisted in the United’s first goal by centre-forward Thami Gabuza with a beautiful header.

Tito, as he is affectionately called by his fans, missed a few scoring chances as he won man of the match award in his first match.

Matsatsantsa website conducted Q and A with Maswanganyi who had a stint with few clubs overseas before he returned to South Africa.

Tell us about your first ever match with United on Tuesday?

 It was really a great game I enjoyed every moment of it and I was so happy to play my first match for SuperSport United at home.  It really felt very special and getting a win was a bonus.

Your efforts finally paid dividends as you started the match and assisted on the first goal?

 It is very important to work hard and be patient for your turn and always support those who are playing and I was given my chance and was very excited that I contributed in the team’s win.

What came to your mind when your name was mentioned in the starting lineup?

 Hahaha…I was ready to play so when I had my name I couldn't wait to be on the field and play, I was very excited about playing my first match so I had no fear.

Tell us about the delivery, did you communicate it with Gabuza who finished with a header?

 It happened so quickly and I knew he was going to make the run in the back post so I had to put the ball in the right space for him to finish.
