SSU duo appreciate MTN8 Cup awards

Two SuperSport United players would like to thank people who voted for them during the Premier Soccer League end of season end of season awards ceremony recently.

Skipper Ronwen Williams and marksman Bradley Grobler won the Goalkeeper of season and MTN8 Last Man Standing awards respectively.

The duo contributed immensely for superSport United and their hard work did not go unnoticed.

Ronwen Williams:

“I would like to thank everyone who voted for me. It’s an honour for me to become goalkeeper of the season yet again. Obviously I couldn’t have done it by myself, it’s a collective effort and I give credit to the technical team as well as the players in front of me, especially the defenders.

We take huge pride in our defending and I’m proud to be associated with this team,” said the Matsatsantsa and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper.

Bradley Grobler:

“I think for me personally winning the MTN8 Last Man Standing was a great feeling.  After being nominated last year as well for the same award and helping the team to the final then having to miss the final due to injury.

It was nice to play all the games in this MTN8 Cup, reach the final and scored the winning goal which helped the team win another Cup.  So it was a great feeling for me.  First of all we know football is a team sport and I have to thank my teammates.  I thank the technical team and everyone behind the scenes who pushed me hard and got my fitness to where it should be.  There are a lot of people that I owe this award to, and I think my partnership with Thami Gabuza needs a special mention.  I thought he was unbelievable during the whole campaign and for me he was equally deserving of the award as well.  Credit to him and the rest of the team.  Let’s hope one of us can win it again this year,” said the United and Bafana Bafana forward.
