SSU eye maximum points against Stellenbosch

SuperSport United are looking to collect maximum points at home when they welcome rookies Stellenbosch FC in a crucial league match on the weekend.

The match will be held at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville, Tshwane.

Kick off is at 20:15 on Saturday night.

Matsatsantsa are highly motivated after their last win against Maritzburg United on the road this week.

A win saw Matsatsantsa still rooted on position three below cross-town rivals Mamelodi Sundowns with 20 and 21 points respectively.

On the other hand, visitors Stellenbosch are going into this match after losing to leaders Kaizer Chiefs in a midweek league encounter.

Matsatsantsa must guard against complacency to Stellenbosch who are lying third from the bottom of the table.

Also, this will be the two sides’ first meeting since “Stellies” (as they are affectionately called) were promoted to the elite league this season.

If United beat Stellenbosch, this will be their third consecutive league victory after collecting six points against Bidvest Wits and Maritzburg respectively.

United will rely heavily on seasoned campaigners such as Ronwen Williams, Thami Gabuza, Clayton Daniels, Siya Nhlapo and skipper Dean Furman.
