SuperSport United Football Club lost their first match of the inaugural DStv Premier Soccer League in a midweek encounter.

The match was held at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in the KwaZulu-Natal province.

Arrows were the first to open the scoring account in the 38th minute of the first stanza.

The halftime score was 1-0 to Arrows.

In the 69th minutes it was Golden Arrows again who increased the lead to make the score 2-0.

United scored the only goal on the night from the boot of midfielder Teboho Mokoena after releasing a long range drive to make the score 2-1.

In the referee’s additional time the home side extended the lead to make the score 3-1.

The final score was 3-1 to the home side.

Meanwhile Matsatsantsa will ply their next league match against Stellenbosch FC on Wednesday November 4 at Lucas Moripe Stadium.  Kickoff is at 19:30.
