SSU move to second spot

SuperSport United moved to position two on the Premier Soccer League (PSL) table after playing to a 1-all draw with Stellenbosch FC on Saturday night.

The home side scored first in the 47th minute, courtesy of Kuda Mahachi.

The match was held at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.

United created a lot of scoring opportunities but were disappointed by poor finishing.

Matsatsantsa have unseated rivals Mamelodi Sundowns by virtue of goal difference.

They have so far won five games having played 13 matches, six draws, two losses and have secured 21 points.

Although a draw is not a bad result for Matsatsantsa, they are separated by 10 points between them and leaders Kaizer Chiefs who are on 31 points.

United missed some of their regular team members such as Evans Rusike, Thabo Qalinge and Bradley Grobler in their previous match.

The pair is out from an assortment of injuries.

Meanwhile United are having another home match this week when they welcome the Tembisa-based-side Highlands Park.

The match is scheduled for Lucas Moripe Stadium on Friday night.  Kick-off is at 20:00.
