SuperSport United and Richards Bay played to a 1-all draw in the DStv Premiership encounter on Sunday afternoon.

The match was held at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.

Both United and Richards Bay created clear cut scoring opportunities but were disappointed by poor finishing.

Matsatsantsa speedy winger Thapelo Maseko whipped in brilliant deliveries on the left flank in the first half but his teammates failed to convert them into goals.

In the second half the match resumed the same way as the first stanza.

In the 65TH minute coach Gavin Hunt brought in two substitutions as Iqraam Rayners and Thabang Sibanyoni came on for Lungu and Bradley Grobler respectively.

In the 73rd minute the visitors capitalized from the United mistake at the back due to lack of communication with keeper Goss.

The score was 1-0 to Richards Bay as Barns put his in the lead from close range after Bhasera and Goss failed to deal with a long ball that was sent into the box.

In the 82nd minute the Matsatsantsa mentor made another double replacement as Thami Gabuza and Jamie Webber came off the bench for Maseko and Patrick Maswanganyi.

The big centre-forward Gabuza did not disappoint as he netted an equalizer six minutes after coach Hunt introduced him as his shot was deflected into the back of the net

The score was 1-1.

The goal put United back into the game but the home side made a big mistake after conceding a penalty as Johannes brought down forward Ntsundwana into the box and the referee pointed to the spot.

The visitors were unlucky to grab the three points as Goss pulled an amazing save from former United academy graduate Mabua and Matsatsantsa swiftly cleared the ball away.

The referee added six minutes due to the injuries picked up by players from both sides.

In the 90+ Zukile Kewuti made his second official appearance in the United colours as he replaced Grant Margeman.
