SSU suffer first loss of the DStv Premiership campaign at home

SuperSport United dropped points at home in the DStv Premiership match against Kaizer Chiefs on Sunday afternoon.

The match was held at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.

The visitors scored first through forward Bernard Parker just before halftime but their celebration was short-lived as Matsatsantsa levelled matters few minutes later.

The halftime score was 1-1.

The second half continued with both teams creating scoring opportunities as they were fighting for three points.

It was Parker again who restored Chiefs’ lead in the early stage of the second half after he was set up by Keagan Dolly to make the score  2-1.

Matsatsantsa pushed forward with some tremendous pressure to level matters but Chiefs’ Daniel Akpeyi was up to the task as Stuart Baxter claimed a morale-boosting win away.

The final score was 2-1 as Chiefs ended Matsatsantsa’s unbeaten run to the DStv Premiership season.
