Three SuperSport United players have been retained for the international friendly matches’ preliminary list that was announced by Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos a fortnight ago.
The players are Ricardo Goss, Siyanda Xulu and Grant Margeman. Out of the four United players in the initial squad, young Ime Okon has been dropped. However, a callup meant a lot for the 19-year-old prospect who was promoted to the senior team last month.
South Africa will play international friendly matches against Namibia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) next month respectively.
The first match against Namibia is on Saturday September 9, and will precede the second clash against DRC on Tuesday September 12. Both matches will be held at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto.
The squad will report for a two-week training camp this coming Sunday at the ANEW Hotel 14th Avenue in Roodepoort, Johannesburg.
