Please tell us how it all happened?

For us it started the previous season when we came second on the table and this season, we wanted to make sure that we didn’t feel the same way we felt the previous season.

What was the team’s secret?

Every week we wanted to give 1 percent more than the previous week and sometimes we couldn’t play the type of football we wanted but we made sure that during those games we get maximum points.

What does it mean to you and the whole team?

It’s a proud moment for all of us to be able to bring the trophy home for the first time and we are happy that it was us that were able to achieve this fantastic achievement.

What does it take to be the leader of the team?

I think being a captain comes with a lot of responsibilities and you must have character because you must be there for your team even if you are not at your best.

What made you to succeed as a captain?

The support from the coaches, staff and teammates and wanting to learn from players in the first team and other players that are leaders in the DDC.

Did you feel pressure along the way or you guys were just focused on taking it one match at a time? Tell us?

I think there’s no player in our team that can tell you they didn’t feel the pressure along the way especially the last few games, but we were able to handle it and get the results we wanted.

At some point, it excited the chasing-pack after losing to Golden Arrows away with just two matches left before the league ends, how did the coaches get the team’s mentality right till the last day of the league?

They reminded us of what happened last season and what’s at stake, even us as senior players in the change-room we had to talk about what’s at stake, and we couldn’t allow ourselves to fail again.

To football fans, the big victory was not a surprise after finishing second last season. What is your view on this one?

I think they were right because it was the same team from the previous season just two or three changes so we already knew what we wanted.

What is your message to the team and the academy boys who might be joining the DDC team next season?

They must work hard because we have set the standard for the DDC team but most importantly is that they have to enjoy what they do and show what they are all about.
