SuperSport United will look to continue their unbeaten start under Andre Arendse when Stellenbosch arrive at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium for a DStv Premiership match on Tuesday.

Kick-off is at 5pm CAT (SA, GMT+2)

Arendse began his reign with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Kaizer Chiefs before Matsatsantsa shared the spoils in a goalless draw with Marumo Gallants last time out.

The Pretoria giants trail their midweek opponents by four points in eighth place and will be hoping to complete a DStv Premiership double over them this season after emerging 1-0 victors in the reverse fixture at the Danie Craven Stadium on December 8.

Arendse has urged his players to keep their feet on the ground after two solid performances and he was delighted with a second successive clean sheet, having seen the defence ship eight goals in their previous four outings.

"We mustn't get carried away with ourselves. The Kaizer Chiefs three points was huge for us so it was not our divine right to come out here and think we had three points in the bag," he said.

"A very big positive (to keep two clean sheets in a row). I think that's important, we're always telling our players, 'you keep clean sheets you don't lose games' and that's the truth."

The Maroons bounced back from a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Chippa United with a massive 1-0 win over Chiefs to keep their top-three hopes alive.

Steve Barker's side have only lost two of their last 10 league matches to remain in the hunt for CAF football as they are five points adrift of Cape Town City in sixth place with four matches left to play.

Barker described their success against Amakhosi as the "perfect evening" in front of the home fans for the first time in the DStv Premiership, but he was keen to stress that Stellies would be starting from scratch for the trip to Atteridgeville, where they will attempt to secure a top-eight berth.

"Important that we get back to zero and there's still four games left," he said. "The top eight is still our first priority. I believe we're probably one win away from securing that and if we can and still have two of three matches left then we can even try push for higher honours."

PLAYERS TO WATCH:

SUPERSPORT UNITED:

Thamsanqa Gabuza: The 34-year-old striker was presented with two opportunities to add to his tally of seven goals for the season against Gallants, but failed to hit the target on both occasions from promising positions. Gabuza remains SuperSport's main threat in front of goal despite his advancing years and is one ahead of Ghampani Lungu in the scoring charts.

Jesse Donn: The 23-year-old is fast becoming a vital cog in midfield for Matsatsantsa, having made 20 starts in the league and missing just three games all season. Donn scored his first two goals for the club earlier this year against Maritzburg United and AmaZulu.

STELLENBOSCH:

Judas Moseamedi: The 28-year-old striker linked up well with Ashley Du Preez in attack against the Glamour Boys and provided the assist for Dean van Rooyen's opener. Moseamedi almost got on the scoresheet himself in the second half after running through on goal, but he was unable to beat the keeper for what would have been his sixth goal of the campaign.

Ibraheem Jabaar: The 19-year-old midfielder is enjoying an outstanding second season for Stellies, having racked up 24 appearances (all starts) and Barker believes he is in line to win the Young Player of the Season award in the DStv Premiership.
