SuperSport United attacking midfielder Teboho “Tebza” Mokoena won man of the match award when his team drew 2-2 with rivals Mamelodi Sundowns in the Tshwane derby in a midweek clash.
The big match was held at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Tshwane on Wednesday night.
Tebza, as he is affectionately called by his teammates, gave a brilliant performance to make sure that his side goes back home with a point in the back after a remarkable comeback.
Sundowns were the first ones to open the scoring account through Neo Maema on the stroke of halftime and the second strike came from the boot of Peter Shalulile.
United, who had a never-say-die attitude on the night, netted their first goal through Gamphani Lungu after following up on Jamie Webber’s long range shot as Sundowns’ keeper Denis Onyango made a blunder.
Mokoena, who has a tendency of scoring from set-pieces, netted an equalizer after a well-anticipated free-kick to make the score 2-2.
The Bafana Bafana midfielder deservedly won man of the match award as the two cross-town rivals shared a point apiece.
Sundowns are still leading the pack on the DStv Premiership table with 27 points whereas Matsatsantsa are on position four followed by Kaizer Chiefs with the same number of points (19) , games played, wins, draws and losses.
