Tembo, Baxter in big league clash this afternoon

SuperSport United head coach Kaitano Tembo will be meeting his ex-colleague Stuart Baxter in a big DStv Premiership clash against Kaizer Chiefs this afternoon.

The big league clash is scheduled for Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.

Kickoff is at 17:30.

The latter played a big role to get coach Tembo where he is at the moment during their successful period at United.

“I had a good working relationship with coach Baxter and he is someone who really believed in me. At some stage he was not feeling well when we were participating in the CAF competition and he assigned me to be responsible for our Confederation Cup against TP Mazembe on the road.  We played to a 2-all draw in a tough battle away from home,” said the United boss Kaitano Tembo.

According to Tembo, coach Baxter is a shrewd tactician who is not afraid to come up with new strategies on the training field.

“I learnt a lot from coach Baxter, and I’m sure he will definitely take Chiefs to where he wants them to be,” Tembo said.

Although Tembo has much respect for coach Baxter, the focal point on this afternoon’s big league meeting is nothing less than three points to keep their home record intact.

“This is not going to be an easy one, Chiefs are coming into this match after a convincing league victory and they are starting to play the way coach Baxter wants them to play,” concluded Tembo.

A victory for Matsatsantsa will see them consolidating their position on the DStv Premiership log table.
