SuperSport United coach Kaitano Tembo admits he is unsure of what to expect from struggling Chippa United when the teams clash in the DStv Premiership on Wednesday. Kick-off at 5pm CAT, live on SuperSport and live streaming through DStv and Showmax.

Chippa have recently appointed Dan Malesela for a third spell as coach and Tembo suggests that could lead to a change in game-plan for a side that has taken just five points from the 24 available so far this season.

“We just have to prepare mentally for this game because it comes at a very difficult time,” Tembo said. “But at the same time we’re playing against a team that has made changes in their technical team.

“We don’t really have an idea how they’re going to approach this game but we really need to go out there and impose our game on them because we’re playing at home. What’s key is for us to impose our game from the beginning.”

SuperSport trail leaders Mamelodi Sundowns and Moroka Swallows by six points, but have two games in hand and could move level at the summit if they win those.

The Chippa game is the start of a hectic period for the side though that will see them play an incredible seven games in the next 24 days, a serious test of their squad depth.

“I think we’ve got a very good squad and we’re very disciplined‚” Tembo said.

“I think we’ve been preparing for this coming month way before because the players physically they’re OK. We’re going to be playing games in a very short space of time.

“There’s not going to be much training. We just have to manage players properly between load and recoveries. The recovery is going to be very key.”
