Tshwane derby…again

Tshwane fans will be split when two city rivals SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundown lock horns in an exciting Last32 stage of the 2020 Nedbank Cup competition.

The big match of the weekend is scheduled for Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday night.

Kick-off is at 20:15.

This eagerly awaited meeting is regarded more as a fight than a game of football as United will certainly be looking to settle the score after losing to their rivals last month.

On the other hand, fans have already started with score predictions and most of all about who holds power in the city of Tshwane.

Matsatsantsa are going into this match with positive energy and have put last month’s loss at the back of their minds.

Interestingly, midfielder Teboho Mokoena is now available for selection after missing the previous Tshwane derby as he served a one match suspension.

Also, this is going to be another clash of teacher versus student (coach Pitso Mosimane and Kaitano Tembo), as the former coached the latter at United a few seasons ago.

The last meeting between the two outfits saw Sundowns emerging victorious in the league’s second round encounter.
