Two cross-town rivals SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns face each other in a fierce DStv Premiership battle this afternoon in the capital of Tshwane.

This is the Tshwane clash that usually produces goals and display good performances between the two outfits.

Visitors United are going into this encounter following a 2-1 loss to rookies Marumo Gallants at home this past weekend.

“We are still disappointed with our previous result, especially with our performance, but we have discussed it and have put it behind us, we got a massive match today and we need to give a better account of ourselves.

It’s a derby and a big match, we need to be mentally prepared to face the champions,” said the Matsatsantsa and Bafana Bafana skipper.

According to Williams, this is a special event and the team is looking forward to make their loyal supporters happy by all means.

“This derby is special, and we hope that we can make our supporters happy,” said the United goalkeeper.

This is going to be a tough one as the home side are still unbeaten and yet to drop maximum points and Matsatsantsa have to dig deeper if they really want to emerge victorious.

“They are the best team in our league, we give them all the respect but we do not fear them, we have planned well and we believe in ourselves.

We must learn from our previous defeat, our performance, attitude and desire was not there, so we need to be fully focused and mentally prepared to do battle,” he said.

Matsatsantsa will rely heavily on players such as Williams, Teboho Mokoena, Sipho Mbule and the big centre-forward Thamsanqa Gabuza who is on top form at the moment.

Meanwhile Matsatsantsa have signed two new signings (Putco Khoza and Kegan Johannes) this week and the pair will definitely add value to the Tshwane-based-outfit.

“Both players have been with us for some time now, they fully deserve their contracts and we wish them all the best and they will definitely add value to our team,” concluded the captain.
