SuperSport United Football Club take on ABC Motsepe Foundation league side Dondol Stars FC in the 2023 Nedbank Cup Last 32 round.

The Cup competition match is scheduled for Wednesday night at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.

Kickoff is at 19:30.

SuperSport United website caught up with Kegan Johannes and conducted Q and A with the defender ahead of the match.

What is your take on our last match against Cape Town City?

 The match against City was a difficult one, we knew they were going to come at us with everything they had but I have to congratulate everyone for the effort they put in to make sure that we got maximum points which were crucial.

The win is a big motivation going into the Cup match on Wednesday?

 Most definitely, it was an important win and now we just have to be consistent which is one of the most difficult things to do in football.

This is not going to be an easy one as we are playing a closed book – Dondol FC?

 It’s definitely going to be a difficult one but seeing that we don’t have any real footage or knowledge of them we have to prepare ourselves for a tough encounter and focus on ourselves.

I think the emphasis is to avoid being complacent as these teams from lower division usually cause an upset to PSL sides?

Most definitely!  I agree, we obviously wouldn’t want to be knocked out in the first round, we know we’d like to go as far as we possibly can into the tournament.

How do you think we must approach the match to make them feel that they are playing a team that campaigns in the elite league?

 I think we should just play our normal game because that’s what’s gotten us to where we are now.

Also, this is another Tshwane derby where bragging rights come into play?

Hahaha… whether it’s a Tshwane derby or not I feel like bragging rights are always to play for but because it is a derby it’ll be interesting.
