SuperSport United Football Club welcome Orlando Pirates in their crucial last match of the DStv Premiership season.

The game is scheduled for Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville, Tshwane on Monday night.  Kickoff is at 6pm.

Matsatsantsa midfielder Jesse Donn, in his Q and A with the club’s website, emphasized that this is their final opportunity to make things right by winning the big encounter.

Briefly talk us through this week’s preparations on the last match of the season at home?

Training has been up and down this week. There were days when we felt the complacency creeping in, especially with the break just around the corner. But we were able to regain the focus in the last few days and our pre match training at Lucas was particularly good.

This is going to be a big match of our lives, a win is a must so that we finished in the top eight?

We are all aware of the predicament we face this evening, and only three points will secure us a top eight finish. Although we understand the importance of the game, the focus has been more on playing good football and letting the result take care of itself. If we focus too much on the pressure of the game it can be crippling, so we have to play our football with a calm mind.

We lost our last match on the road, hopefully the team will come back fully recharged against Orlando Pirates?

Losing the last match on the road wasn’t fun. Travelling far and then conceding three goals was not part of the plan, even if we were unlucky with the penalty decisions. That being said, we have one final chance to make things right and we look forward to getting back to winning ways this evening.

Also, senior players must come to the party on this one, it will obviously make life easier for the youngsters in the fold?

I don’t think it’s a case of just the senior players coming to the party, because we all have to show up if we want to get a result. Young or old- we have to give our very best.

Our opponents Orlando Pirates are playing good football, and they are surely going to be a handful to us?

Pirates are a good team and have been playing good football but we aren’t focusing too much on them. We’ve analyzed their weaknesses and will look to exploit them with our strengths.

They beat us in the first round after surprisingly staged a 3-2 comeback?

Unfortunately they managed to pip us in the first encounter, after more penalty decisions going against us, but that is in the past. Today’s game will be very different and we will adjust our approach accordingly.

They recorded a win and a draw in their last two matches against Maritzburg United and Royal AM respectively, they are all for collecting points?

They’ve been up and down recently and fatigue is certainly a big factor for them. With our freshness, hopefully we can capitalize on their heavy legs.

What must be the approach to Pirates in your opinion?

In my opinion, the best way to approach playing against them is to go in with no fear. Work ethic and hunger to win should be a given, so if we can add some confidence into the mix and not over respect them, we give ourselves a great chance of coming out on top.
