Winning is a good feeling - Furman

It was hugely important to get back to winning ways back-to-back after a disappoint run of form.

We knew we weren’t far off as we felt we played well against Sundowns and Stellenbosch, so had to remain confident that we would get the result.

It is always a tough battle against Highlands Park and Bidvest Wits. We are delighted that we have won all six games against them this season.

Bash (Onismor Bhasera) often doesn’t get the credit he deserves. He is our Mr. Reliable. The run and cross for our first goal against Wits was typical of Bash’s hard work and desire, which he puts in every week on the left side of the field.

Team building days are great as they take the team away from the training pitch and take our minds off the game. Taking the team into a different environment and having some fun can have a positive effect on performance. Our team building outing definitely helped develop some added team spirit which was so crucial in the Wits game.

Highlands Park are a very tough side to play as we have seen in the MTN final and home league game. They have a unique playing style and it is very effective. When playing them, it is hugely important to match their high work rate. It was a very important aspect of the game on Sunday. They were confident going into the game with their home advantage, but we have had a good week of preparation and were lucky to make it back to back victories.

Guily Manziba was fantastic on his debut. He has incredible speed and is very direct. As he gets fitter and stronger with more game time, we are sure he is going to cause defenders nightmares.
